The Mental Health Service at VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (GLA) is seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join the Women’s Health Clinic at our West Los Angeles VAMC or Sepulveda VAMC. The Women’s Health Centers are unique, integrative women’s health clinics that offer comprehensive primary care to female veterans, as well as specialty medical and mental health care, social work services, and pharmacy services, in a warm, welcoming space dedicated to female veterans. As a multidisciplinary team member, you will work closely with psychology, nursing, primary care, and social work to deliver coordinated, integrated, rehabilitative, and restorative outpatient services. Your role will encompass medication management, supportive psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and same-day psychiatric services, ensuring veterans receive coordinated, rehabilitative, and restorative care aimed at achieving their highest level of functioning, independence, and housing stability. Key Responsibilities: Provide a full range of psycho-diagnostic services and therapeutic interventions as part of the overall care of female Veterans with psychiatric disorders. Manage medications for a wide variety of mental disorders. Deliver supportive psychotherapy when indicated. Evaluate and manage veterans presenting urgent psychiatric needs, including hospitalization if necessary. Participate in daily interdisciplinary team huddles.
