Position Summary
The Substance Abuse Counselor provides outpatient counseling services to individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders. This role delivers treatment services within scope of practice and in accordance with organizational policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulations.
Essential Duties
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide individual and group counseling services
- Document services accurately and timely in the electronic health record
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
- Follow clinical supervision and reporting requirements
Required Qualifications
- Georgia-recognized credential (CAC I, CAC II, CADC, or equivalent)
- Minimum one (1) year experience in substance use or behavioral health
- Ability to work onsite
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field
