Location: 3700 Festival Park Plz, Chester VA 23831
Full-time In Office 3 Days a week 9am-5pm Reports to: Clinical Director
$250.00-$300.00 Per Session

As a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), you’ll be at the forefront of transforming lives through evidence-based care, trauma-informed practice, and person-centered planning. Under the guidance of a licensed clinical supervisor, you’ll support individuals battling substance use disorders on their path to stability and success.
What You’ll Do
  • Conduct initial screenings, ASAM assessments, and substance use evaluations using DSM-5
  • Develop individualized service plans in partnership with clients and clinical teams
  • Deliver group and individual counseling sessions using CBT, MI, and trauma-informed approaches
  • Coordinate referrals for housing, employment, healthcare, and legal services
  • Monitor participation and recovery progress, and document outcomes with precision and care
  • Respond to crises with empathy and professionalism—ensuring safety and dignity
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethical, clinical, and regulatory compliance
What You Bring
  • Credentialed as a CSAC in Virginia (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field + 3 years of direct experience in SUD treatment
  • Deep understanding of substance use recovery models, risk management, and relapse prevention
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and trauma-informed care practices
  • Proven skills in case management, documentation, and interagency collaboration
  • A passion for working with diverse communities and creating inclusive spaces for healing
  • Salary commensurate with experience
