Part-Time Domestic Violence Counselor (17 hours per week)

The opportunity suits candidates who are seeking clinical hours/experience towards their clinical license. This position requires in-person contact with clients in a shelter setting. New graduates welcome to apply.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Associate Director, the domestic violence counselor is responsible to provide direct counseling services to individuals (children, adolescents, and adults) who have experienced or witnessed domestic violence, facilitate support groups, and collaborate with other staff to ensure quality client care.

DUTIES AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Provide direct counseling services to individuals and facilitate support groups.

·Facilitate twelve-week domestic violence counseling programs for mandated and non-mandated clients.

·Provide counseling to adults and children in the shelter setting

·Collaborate with direct service personnel such as: Child Protective Service Workers, Case Workers, and Medical Doctors etc.

·Maintain required client records, agency documentation and submit statistical reports as needed.

·Provide crisis counseling to hotline callers.

·Provide information, referrals and advocacy as needed.

·Attend weekly clinical supervision and case conference meetings

·Maintain policies established by Board of Directors.

·Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director or Executive Director

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Master’s Degree in Social Work

· Valid NYS LMSW or LCSW license

· Candidate(s) must have excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills.

This position requires evening and/or weekend availability.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour

Expected hours: 17 per week
