Job Title: Admissions Counselor
Department: Enrollment Management – Brooklyn Campus
Title Position Reports To: Director of First-Year Admission
JOB SUMMARY:
An Admissions Counselor serves as a primary recruiter of prospective students to St. Joseph's University, New York.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
· Assist prospective first-year, transfer, adult, graduate and international students through the enrollment funnel.
· Manage an assigned recruitment territory
· Interview and host prospective students and meet with their families.
· Evaluate completed first-year and transfer applications for decision, and assign transfer credit as well as merit-based scholarship.
· Counsel prospective students via phone, zoom, email and texting platforms.
· Represent St. Joseph's University at on campus and off campus recruitment events.
· Act as liaison with departments or projects of assigned special programs.
· Assist with various admissions tasks as directed by the Office of Admissions.
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
· Must be able to travel independently throughout New York City. Valid driver’s license preferred.
· Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.
· Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, cycle etc.
· Ability to work some evenings and occasional weekends.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets)
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree required, plus 1-2 years related experience preferred.
