School-Based Social Worker - Chimayo, New Mexico

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A dedicated Social Worker is sought to support elementary school students in Chimayo, NM. This role focuses on providing essential behavioral and social skills support to students in pre-kindergarten through 6th grade across two elementary school sites. The position offers a contract duration aligned with the current school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual and group social work services addressing behavioral challenges and social skill development.
• Collaborate with educators and families to develop and implement student support plans.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
• Provide crisis intervention and ongoing counseling to students as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with district policies and state regulations.

Qualifications:

• Valid LMSW license recognized by New Mexico and certification from the Public Education Department (PED).
• Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged children, focusing on behavior and social development.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff.
• Commitment to working on-site full time; virtual or hybrid arrangements are not available.

• Assigned to Barranca and Aspen Elementary Schools

Contract Details:

• Full-time contract, 40 hours per week, no overtime permitted
• Appointment aligned with the current school year calendar
