Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A dynamic opportunity exists for a School Counselor specializing in special education to support K-12 students during the upcoming academic semester. This role centers on providing essential counseling services, evaluations, and collaborative support within a public school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of 40+ students requiring counseling support.
- Conduct comprehensive counseling evaluations to assess student needs.
- Participate actively in ARD meetings and staffings to develop individualized education plans.
- Collaborate closely with Behavior Interventionist staff and school personnel.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to enhance student well-being and academic success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working as a School Counselor in K-12 education.
- Knowledge of counseling techniques tailored to students with moderate special needs.
- Familiarity with conducting evaluations and participating in ARD processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, students, and families.
Location and Duration:
- Onsite position located in Decatur, Texas.
- Contract duration runs from January 5, 2026, through May 29, 2026.
- Full-time hours at 37.5 per week.
