At the Philadelphia Center for Psychotherapy (PCP), one of our core values is creating a positive, collaborative, casual, and collegial work environment for all our clinicians in order to create a healthy work culture that promotes peer support, self-care, and flexibility. When it comes to self-care, we know how often we preach but don't practice this recommendation, which is why we emphasize attending to the mental wellbeing of our therapists, just like we value that of our clients; that's why the workload is not intense, and you will not be expected to work more than 25 hours per week in total for a full-time position.
We are looking to hire a Licensed Psychologist (PsyD or PhD) to join our team. This position will primarily include the provision of psychological services for individuals who struggle with various issues, such as trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, grief, and life transitions.
This position is hybrid, where you can work from home 3-4 days per week, and come into our Center City office 1-2 days.
This is a fee for service position that will offer you a range of potential earnings up to $146,000 per year for a full caseload of patients. To apply, please include a resume and a cover letter with your application, and either apply within Indeed or on our website.
Benefits package includes:
- Yearly earnings between $111,700 and $146,000 when seeing 24-30 clients per week, for an average of 47 weeks per year.
- 6 days of paid sick time off.
- 4 weeks of unpaid time off per year, including major holidays.
- Incremental yearly paid vacation time after completing 3 years.
- Up to $500/year stipend toward continuing education.
- Fully furnished office with a midcentury modern design, in the Rittenhouse neighborhood of Center City.
- Access to a weekly peer consultation space where we talk about anything and everything, from your challenging cases, to new theoretical orientations and philosophical questions, to what you had for dinner the night before and how your weekend was!
- Individual consultations with a supervisor on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications:
- A Doctorate degree in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology.
- An active psychology license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Experience in working with adults (experience with children recommended, but not necessary) in a clinical capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver psychological services that will include mostly individual therapy.
- Document all notes for each therapy session and supervision meeting by the end of the work day.
- Maintain a minimum of 24 client hours per week on average.
- Participate in weekly, paid 1-hour peer consultations.
- Maintain professional, collegial, and collaborative teamwork ethics that will be essential to the work culture that we've created at PCP.
Skills:
- Familiarity and experience with a variety of approaches to therapy (e.g., psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, IFS, etc).
- Familiarity and experience with working with diverse clinical presentations.
- Commitment to having openness to feedback and a sense of humility.
- Excellent communication skills, which is inherently critical to this type of career.
- Flexible attitude that can be reflected in ability to handle change and unexpected circumstances as they emerge.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
The Philadelphia Center for Psychotherapy strives to create a diverse, inclusive, non-judgmental, flexible, collaborative, and growth-oriented environment. If this seems like something you'd be interested in, we'd love to hear from you!
