NYCCC, an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Board Certified and Board Eligible Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for their inpatient hospital located in Bronx
Psychiatrists at NYCCC are part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides comprehensive, patient-centered, and holistic team based care to children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances including:
- Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions
- Creating treatment plans including medication management
- Obtaining and reviewing appropriate laboratory tests and consulting with members of treatment team as needed
- Supervising Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellows from NYU
- Attending NYU Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Grand Rounds
Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have:
Psychiatrist 1 Children & youth: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). and certification in child and adolescent psychiatry approved by the ABPN.
Psychiatrist 2 Children & Youth: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN, and certification in child and adolescent psychiatry approved by the ABPN.
OR
Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

There are multiple positions available. These positions are eligible for a downstate adjustment of $4,000.

If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
- Continued employment as a Psychiatrist 1 (Children and Youth) or Psychiatrist 2 (C&Y) is dependent upon current licensure to practice medicine and in the case of Psychiatrist 1 (Children and Youth) or Psychiatrist 2 (Children and Youth), current certification in child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Loss of licensure and certification may result in removal from this position.
