Licking County Job & Family Services, is seeking a compassionate, motivated Social Worker to join our Ongoing Services team. This position provides dynamic, intensive case management to abused and neglected children and their families, supporting safety, stability, and long-term well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive family assessments and evaluate child safety and risk.
  • Provide ongoing case management focused on child protection and family strengthening.
  • Monitor families for safety, well-being, and progress toward reunification or permanency.
  • Deliver crisis intervention, respond to emergency situations, and develop short- and long-term case goals.
  • Provide parenting skills instruction to families involved in child abuse and neglect situations.
  • Collaborate with legal and law enforcement partners; prepare documentation and testify in court as required.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation, responding to after-hours child protection emergencies.
  • Navigate and refer families to community resources and service providers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related behavioral science field required.
  • Experience working with at-risk children and families—including child welfare, substance abuse, mental health, or behavioral management—preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources and service systems helpful.
  • Ability to work overtime and fulfill on-call responsibilities as needed.
  • Physical ability to carry small children, climb stairs, and perform job tasks in varied environments.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; driving is an essential job function.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.
