Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Special Education Counselor to support a K-12 school in Fort Worth, TX. The position is a contract role for the current school year from January to May, requiring onsite presence with a caseload of approximately 40 students presenting moderate needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct counseling evaluations and provide individual and group counseling services.
- Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings and staffings.
- Collaborate closely with Behavior Interventionist Consultants (BIC) and support staff.
- Monitor student progress and address social-emotional and behavioral concerns.
- Complete documentation and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Experience working as a school counselor, especially with special education students.
- Understanding of K-12 special education processes and legal requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and families.
- Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Location and Schedule:
- Fort Worth, TX area.
- Onsite role with approximately 37.5 hours per week.
- Contract duration from January 5, 2026, through May 29, 2026.
