Overview:
The mission of Helio Heath, Inc. is to promote recovery from the effects of substance use and mental health disorders and other health issues. Helio Health is seeking a Work Readiness/Vocational Counselor for our Elements Program in Liverpool, New York to assist clients in achieving a recovery lifestyle and meet the vocational rehabilitation needs of clients.

Hours
: M-F 8am-4:30pm

Pay:
$21.00/hr. - $24.84/hr.

In addition to Helio Health’s comprehensive benefits package, this position is eligible for a Sign-On incentive up to $1,500!

Responsibilities:
  • Provides individual and group vocational counseling services to include:
    • Assessment of vocational and educational assessments.
    • Facilitates referrals for additional vocational assessments.
    • Treatment planning.
    • Expressive and experiential therapy modalities.
    • Didactic Lectures.
  • Provides job preparation and ongoing job development training.
  • Discharge planning.
  • Record-keeping.
  • Works with community organizations and agencies to enhance Vocatioinal and Living Skills programming.
  • Performs Quality Assurance activities to include:
    • Provides services according to agenciy policies and procedures and governmental regulations.
    • Evaluates programming and identifies strengths/problems
  • Assists in problem resolution and implementing appropriate program modifications.
  • Participates in committees as assigned.
  • Maintains appropriate program records and statistical accountability.
  • Represents program to the community.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in counseling or related discipline preferred.
  • Master's degree in counseling or other related discipline preferred.
  • Vocational rehabilitation counseling experience required.
  • QHP preferred but not required.
  • Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of community educational and vocational resources.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.
  • Must have a valid NYS Driver's License.
