Position Summary

We are seeking a SUD Certified Group Counselor to join our weekend and holiday team. This position focuses on facilitating structured recovery groups for adult residents in treatment.
This counselor does not carry an individual caseload and instead supports the program through group facilitation, documentation, and client engagement during nontraditional hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate scheduled group counseling sessions focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and life skills.
• Maintain accurate group sign-in sheets and brief progress notes in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Support staff with milieu supervision to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Collaborate with clinical and residential teams to reinforce treatment goals.
• Communicate effectively with shift leads or program supervisors regarding client participation and needs.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid California SUD Counselor Certification (CCAPP, CADTP, or CAADE).
• Minimum of 1 year of group facilitation experience in a residential or outpatient setting preferred.
• Strong group management and communication skills.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices such as CBT, MI, and relapse prevention is a must.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).

Schedule & Pay

• Hours: Saturdays, Sundays, and rotating holidays.
• Pay Range: $30-$35/hour (based on certification and experience).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week

Work Location: In person
