Education

Master’s in Social Work (MSW), Master’s in Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy, (MFT), Master’s in Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Doctoral degree in psychology (PsyD), focused on clinical practice, Doctoral degree, with focus on both research and clinical practice (PHD)

License

  • LCSW — Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • LMFT — Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
  • LPCC — Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
  • Psy.D — Doctor of Psychology
  • Ph.D. — Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology

Requirements

Must be registered with BBS or Board of Psychology.

Language

Spanish (Preferred)

Primary Duties/Essential Functions.

  • Provide intake assessment, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term therapy.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution to children, adults, and families with a history of mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders.
  • Independently perform intake assessments and formulate diagnoses using a culturally competent approach.
  • Initiate psychiatric hold for patients presenting a danger to themselves and or others and who are gravely disabled and in need of hospitalization.
  • Collaborate with a variety of medical providers to develop treatment plans aimed at reducing both physical and mental health symptoms.
  • Assesses treatment progress and adapts interventions as needed.
  • Uses evidence-based practice (EBP) to formulate an initial plan of treatment.
  • Provide case management to include referral and linkages to internal and community support services, such as psychiatrists, primary medical care, housing, and social activity groups.
  • Monitor and maintain documentation of client’s services; ensure compliance with medical policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Will carry a caseload of patients and meet Agency patient's service expectations as assigned.
  • Attends and participates in Agency and program/team meetings, individual/group supervision, and related community Agency meetings as required/requested.
  • Demonstrates time management and organizational skills to meet Agency standards.

Skills

  • Knowledge of relevant ethical and legal parameters of professional practice.
  • Excellent communication skills, including a strong command of grammar and writing skills.
  • Experience with electronic record-keeping programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook desirable.
  • Able to work independently and with little supervision, be proactive, and take the initiative.
  • Actively seeks out opportunities for growth and professional development.
  • Demonstrates respect, professionalism, and consideration when dealing with patients, supervisors, and staff.

Location

We have numerous locations in the greater Los Angeles area; placement is based on business and patient needs.

Pay: Dependent on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
