At Adaptive SDP, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with developmental and behavioral disabilities by providing customized in-home and community-based support.
Our programs focus on helping participants build independence, daily life skills, and confidence through meaningful, real-world learning.
We are currently seeking Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) or ABA-experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide individualized support within our Adaptive Skills Training (AST) and Community Integration programs.
Position Overview
This role involves providing 1:1 or small-group direct support to participants in both home and community settings.
The ideal candidate enjoys helping individuals strengthen daily living skills, manage behaviors positively, and engage safely and meaningfully in the community.
You will work under the supervision of our Program Director and collaborate with our support team to ensure participants receive consistent, quality care aligned with their personal goals.
Responsibilities
- Implement adaptive skill-building and behavioral support plans
- Support participants in developing communication, self-help, and social skills
- Reinforce routines and positive coping strategies in daily activities
- Assist with home and community skill-building, such as:
- Household tasks (laundry, organizing, meal prep)
- Community navigation (shopping, paying for purchases, street safety)
- Social interactions (ordering food, communicating with staff or peers)
- Facilitate structured, safe community outings
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
- Uphold safety and de-escalation protocols
- Communicate regularly with the Program Director and support team
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 1 year working with individuals with developmental or behavioral disabilities (required)
- Certification: RBT preferred; ABA field experience required if not certified
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (required); college coursework in psychology, special education, or ABA (preferred)
- Certifications: CPR/First Aid required within 30 days of hire (preferred at time of hire)
- Other Requirements:
- Reliable transportation to participant locations
- Ability to pass Live Scan background check
- Mobile device for communication and documentation
