Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.


This opportunity is for a Counselor position within a K-12 school setting located in Independence, MO. This contract role is scheduled for the current school year (CSY), providing crucial support to students across all grade levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to K-12 students addressing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop strategies that support student well-being and success.
  • Implement intervention programs and assist in crisis management as needed.
  • Maintain confidential records and prepare reports related to student progress and counseling activities.
  • Facilitate referrals to external support services when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Valid counseling certification or licensure applicable to K-12 education.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain flexible within a dynamic educational setting.
  • Knowledge of counseling techniques and child development principles.
