Our client, a nonprofit regional medical center providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient healthcare services including trauma, surgery, cardiac, oncology, and specialty care, seeks an accomplished Clinical Social Worker.

Description:
· Seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Clinical Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary Emergency Department team.
· This master’s-prepared clinician will conduct mental health evaluations, provide crisis intervention, and support patients throughout their inpatient stay and discharge process.
· Conducting psychosocial and behavioral health assessments within 72 hours of admission.
· Participating in daily interdisciplinary rounds and contributing to care planning.
· Reviewing charts for risk indicators such as mental health directives, firearm access concerns, and contact requests.
· Educating patients and families on safety planning, firearm safety, and community resources.
· Coordinating discharge planning, follow-up appointments, and CMS-compliant aftercare within 30 days of discharge.
· Facilitating referrals to outpatient programs, counseling services, and culturally appropriate community supports.
· Completing mandated reports to APS or CPS as required.
· Assisting patients with transportation and logistical needs during discharge.
· Communicating effectively with the care team and maintaining accurate documentation using SmartPhrase templates.
Qualifications:
· Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
· Active Washington State license (LSWAIC or LICSW preferred).
· Minimum 2 years of clinical social work experience, preferably in an ER or inpatient psychiatric setting.
· Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and safety planning.
· Familiarity with CMS regulations and hospital documentation standards.
· Excellent communication, organization, and crisis intervention abilities.
· Proven ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
Nice to Haves:
· 3+ years of direct behavioral health or medical social work experience.
· Prior experience with SmartPhrase documentation and Epic/EMR systems.
· Knowledge of firearm safety laws (Donna’s Law, ERPO, Safe Storage).
· Background in discharge planning, resource coordination, or community mental health.
· Experience working with law enforcement, crisis teams, or psychiatric consultation services.
