Psychiatric Social Worker Job Responsibilities
- Provide case management and link clients with outside services, as clinically appropriate
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy
- Attend monthly family meetings, treatment teams, and interagency meetings, as scheduled
- Lead treatment team meetings to review client’s progress on treatment goals and objectives, recommendations, and needs of the clients
- Develop strength-based and measurable treatment plans with feedback from family and child for assigned caseload; and based on client’s social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with classroom staff to formulate treatment interventions for the milieu
- Meet with classroom team on regular basis
- Regularly collaborate with community agencies who are involved with students
- Collaboration with educational team and participation in IEP meetings
- Attend supervisions, as scheduled, to enhance professional growth
- Complete competent clinical documentation (progress notes, treatment plans, evaluations) within specified time frames
- Other duties as requested
- Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, or other related clinical fields required
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Minimum of 1 year working with children in a clinical setting
- Experience working with children who have been diagnosed with ADHD, ASD, and children with a history of trauma (preferred)
- Knowledge and application of evidenced-based treatment modalities (CBT, MI, DBT)
- Work experience in crisis intervention is preferred
- The essential functions of the job described require the ability to exert moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, kneeling, crouching and brisk walking, and which may involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and material of moderate weight (40 pounds)
- Ability to physically restrain students for their safety and the safety of others
- Current PA Acts 34, 114 and 151 clearances required
- Pre-employment medical examination, including tuberculosis test required
