LOCATION: Special Education - Multiple Locations
BASIC FUNCTION:
Provide social work counseling services in the individual, group and consultant setting, and as directed by student Individual Education Programs. Student populations served include elementary, middle and high school ages identified with deafness and hard of hearing or multiple disabilities. The potential to serve other disabilities is also possible in this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assessment, case management, counseling and referral for youth and families.
- Consultation and collaboration with teachers and administrators.
Job Qualifications
- Valid NYS School Social Worker certificate
- LCSW preferred
- Strong clinical experience with youth and families.
- American sign language a plus.
The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001.
