Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in the Davenport area, where you will play a vital role in supporting children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles to support clients’ developmental goals.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, feeding, toileting, and other personal care tasks, ensuring client comfort and safety.
- Collect and record data meticulously during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support clients in developing communication, social, and behavioral skills through engaging teaching techniques and positive reinforcement.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to develop, review, and update personalized care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Maintain detailed and organized medical documentation, including progress notes, behavior logs, and treatment reports, adhering to medical terminology standards and legal requirements.
- Foster a safe, nurturing environment that promotes positive behavior management and emotional well-being.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in behavioral health, special education, and medical documentation.
- Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and team members to ensure consistency and transparency in care delivery.
- Uphold all confidentiality and privacy standards, including HIPAA compliance, to protect client information at all times.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or in a special education setting is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), and experience implementing behavior management strategies.
- Familiarity with assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and supporting their functional independence.
- Strong skills in data collection, medical documentation, and understanding of medical terminology related to behavioral health and developmental disabilities.
- Experience working in a healthcare, educational, or behavioral health environment, with a focus on patient care and behavioral support.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population, demonstrating patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Certification as an RBT or willingness to obtain certification, along with a foundational understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical records management, is essential.
