Exodus Recovery, Inc is looking to hire a Peer Counselor/Advocate available to work for our new Crisis Residential Treatment Program (CRTP) located in Los Angeles, CA.

Job Summary:

The Peer Counselor functions as part of the treatment team and is generally the first program site contact for clients. They are actively involved in providing direct or indirect care and supervision of the clients under the discretion of the Program Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Attainment of at least 18 years of age.
  • A criminal background clearance.
  • A health screening with negative Tuberculin test results.
  • High School Graduate or GED and have a minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience, or its part-time equivalent, working in a program serving people with mental disabilities. Such experience must be in the direct provision of services to clients. Ability to work independently and show mature judgment.
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with the chronic mentally ill and substance abusers preferred.
  • A stable psychiatric condition of a minimum of 12 months and, as applicable, maintenance of continuous sobriety of 24 months or longer. Extensive personal and/or professional knowledge of challenges of developing and maintaining a psychiatrically, sober lifestyle. Verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Grad/or GED
  • Peer Advocate Certificate required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour
