Job Overview
As a Mental Health or Substance Abuse Professional, you will play a pivotal role in transforming lives by providing compassionate support and guidance to individuals struggling with addiction. What you’ll do
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine treatment needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients and foster a trusting therapeutic relationship.
- Facilitate individual and group sessions, employing cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based practices.
- Provide crisis management support, ensuring safety and immediate intervention when necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care, including home and community services as well as hospital resources.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and proper record-keeping.
- Engage in research activities to stay updated on best practices in addiction counseling and behavioral therapy.
- Support families through child and family counseling sessions, addressing the impact of substance abuse on loved ones.
Basic qualifications
- Proven experience working in addiction or mental health setting.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology for accurate documentation.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with PTSD care and behavioral management strategies.
- Familiarity with CBT techniques for effective patient care.
- Background in social work or case management to enhance holistic treatment approaches.
