Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with mental health challenges, providing care and assistance in a hospital or clinical setting. This position requires a strong commitment to patient welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver effective mental health services.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals.
- Provide direct support to patients, including conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
- Facilitate activities that promote socialization and emotional well-being among patients.
- Conduct data collection and maintain accurate records of patient progress and behavior.
- Participate in diagnostic evaluations and assist in case management processes.
- Support patients dealing with grief, autism, and other mental health issues through compassionate care and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients, adhering to hospital protocols and safety regulations.
Requirements
- A background in mental health counseling or related fields is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those requiring grief counseling is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and child family counseling practices is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
- Excellent organizational skills for effective data collection and case management tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
