Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with mental health challenges, providing care and assistance in a hospital or clinical setting. This position requires a strong commitment to patient welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver effective mental health services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals.
  • Provide direct support to patients, including conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Facilitate activities that promote socialization and emotional well-being among patients.
  • Conduct data collection and maintain accurate records of patient progress and behavior.
  • Participate in diagnostic evaluations and assist in case management processes.
  • Support patients dealing with grief, autism, and other mental health issues through compassionate care and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients, adhering to hospital protocols and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • A background in mental health counseling or related fields is preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those requiring grief counseling is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and child family counseling practices is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
  • Excellent organizational skills for effective data collection and case management tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development in mental health practices is essential.
