Job Title: Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) / Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW)

Location: Ventura County

Job Type: Part-Time

Job Summary:

Ojai Recovery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) to join our team at our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Center. This position provides direct clinical services, including individual and group therapy, to clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, you will play a vital role in supporting clients through their recovery journey by implementing evidence-based treatment modalities, developing individualized care plans, and fostering a safe, therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients in residential and outpatient settings.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing case management.
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions, such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical staff, case managers, and peer support specialists.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
  • Participate in clinical supervision as required for licensure and engage in professional development.
  • Support crisis intervention and risk assessment efforts as needed.
  • Educate clients and their families on addiction, mental health, relapse prevention, and coping strategies.
  • Assist in coordinating aftercare plans and community resources to support long-term recovery.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Active AMFT or ASW registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
  • Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of addiction treatment models, harm reduction, and relapse prevention strategies.
  • Familiarity with insurance documentation, and regulatory compliance is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and crisis management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus but not required.
