Job Purpose: The primary purpose of this job is to be a Respiratory Critical care Champion, Clinician, and Educator. Part of a multidisciplinary team, which includes but is not limited to Respiratory Therapists, Quality Improvement and Pharmacy. All will be included in daily rounds. The Coordinator will be able to perform each of the job categories of ACC in great detail as well as teach each of the categories of ACC to patients, providers, nurses, and other Respiratory Therapists in great detail.

Education: Completion of an accredited program with Associates in Applied Science degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent study meeting NBRC requirements for Registered Respiratory Therapist credential. Also, must have taken and passed the Adult Critical Care Specialty Exam.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license from the New York State Education Department and certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Must have obtained the NBRC ACCS credential. Obtain and maintain American Heart Association BLS and ACLS, PALS, and NRP within six (6) months of hire.

Experience: Possess one (1) year experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting.

Preferred: Possess five (5) years' experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting.
