Job Summary

Provides a range of psychological assessment, diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or meal support therapy services for adolescents and their families who are seeking treatment for eating disorders. The overall responsibility of the eating disorder therapist involves coordinating all aspects of care for clients on their caseload, including delivering evidence-based treatments, collaborating to ensure appropriate admissions, coordinating with other internal and external treatment providers, and contributing to cohesiveness within the treatment team to ensure the client’s treatment goals are clear, consistently executed, and actively monitored.

Essential Functions

  • Provide evidence-based individual and group services, including meal support, therapeutic support, and psychotherapy.
  • Provide evidence-based family services, including psychoeducation and family therapy.
  • Co-facilitate meal support by modeling appropriate eating behaviors and supervising client meals and snacks. 
  • Help facilitate the intake process by ensuring appropriate admissions through appropriate assessments and coordination with referral agencies and medical providers
  • Complete and regularly update treatment plans to identify client goals and recommended courses of treatment.
  • Assess clients' clinical level of care criteria and make recommendations to support appropriate transitions through stages of care.
  • Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including recovery coaches, dietitians, therapists, and additional outpatient providers or support systems to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care.
  • Attend treatment team meetings, supervision sessions, and ongoing trainings as required.
  • Complete required documentation for all services provided in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, with flexibility to adapt to changing program demands and client needs

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted licensure in a therapy/counseling field (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LCPC)
  • Must be a fully-licensed therapist that is able to practice independently
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior experience treating clients with eating disorders
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior experience treating adolescent clients and families
  • Experience with DBT, CBT, and ACT is desirable
  • Previous experience at higher levels of care is desirable
