Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to individuals navigating their mental health and addiction recovery journeys. As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you will leverage your personal experiences to foster hope, resilience, and empowerment among clients, helping them achieve their goals in a supportive environment. If hired, you will be stationed at the front desk and will be responsible for overseeing the front desk duties, facilitating the intake process for clients, and providing peer support to clients throughout the day.

Duties

  • Provide one-on-one support to clients, utilizing lived experience to guide them through recovery processes.
  • Facilitate group sessions that promote sharing, learning, and community building among peers.
  • Assist clients in developing coping strategies and skills for managing their mental health challenges.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress using EHR systems.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Mentor clients by sharing personal recovery stories and strategies that have proven effective.

Experience

  • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist is required. Please do not apply to this position if you are not already a Certified Peer Support Specialist.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and management within behavioral health settings is preferred.
  • Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques to inspire client engagement and commitment.
  • Experience using EHR systems for documentation and client management is an asset. Experience in SmartCare is a huge PLUS!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34 per week
