Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Recreation Therapist at Austin State Hospital in Austin, TX. The Recreation Therapist will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing therapeutic recreation programs for patients. They will use various therapeutic recreation activities, maintain progress notes, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. The role requires ongoing assessment and adjustment of treatment plans based on patient progress.

Qualifications

  • Skills in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, and Art Therapy
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification
  • Ability to maintain and update progress notes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in a psychiatric or healthcare setting is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, or related field
