The Housing and Urban Development VA Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program serves veterans is an acuity based, clinical case management program for homeless and previously homeless Veterans and their families seeking to secure and sustain long term, independent housing in the community. HUD-VASH provides clinical case management and supportive services to Veterans in HUD-VASH by utilizing the principles of Housing First: a team-based model of care, comprised of multi-disciplinary staff, and shared caseloads offering wrap around services, intervention and resources.Chronically homeless and other vulnerable homeless Veterans, based on the HUD Prioritization Notice, are admitted to case management to support the ongoing effort to end Veteran homelessness. Services are recovery-oriented and are primarily delivered to veterans in the community. These services are delivered by an integrated, multidisciplinary team with a focus on a high intensity care, crisis prevention and management, flexibility, and are delivered within a community-oriented setting.
The supervisor develops and implements methods for measuring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions by utilizing outcome evaluations to improve treatment services. The supervisor is able to demonstrate the ability to design changes based on empirical findings. The supervisor administers information and analytical systems to evaluate and enhance the quality of service provided to patients. The supervisor develops and implements information systems to track service activities including visits, referrals, inpatient days, patient demographics, equipment utilization, and patient satisfaction. Develops ways to track productivity, and clinician "follow through" with patients. The supervisor will also develop ways to ensure that social workers provide quality care for Veterans. The supervisor will monitor therapeutic interventions, evidence based therapies, and case management services. The supervisor will be assigned administrative responsibility for clinical social work services, and is accountable for clinical program effectiveness and modification of service patterns.

Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- United States Citizenship. Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- English Language Proficiency. Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C.
- 7403(f).
- Education. Have a master's degree in Social Work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited.
Note: A doctoral degree in Social Work may NOT be substituted for the master's degree in Social Work. Verification of the degree can be made by going to http://www.cswe.org/Accreditation to verify that the social work degree meets the accreditation standards for a masters of social work. - Licensure. Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-0185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. - Education and Experience. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. - Licensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as Supervisory Social Workers must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
