Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field, Adapted Physical Education (APE) certification, and 1+ years Adaptive PE Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Blazer Jobs is seeking a full-time Adapted Physical Education (APE) Teacher to join a CO-OP that provides Special Education Programs across 18 districts. The APE Teacher will design and implement individualized physical education programs to support students with disabilities, primarily at the elementary level.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and adapt physical education activities for students with diverse needs
Travel between multiple school sites to provide APE services
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student growth
Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting activities as needed
Support students with Autism and other disabilities in achieving physical, social, and emotional goals
Qualifications:
Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Adapted Physical Education endorsement required
Previous school-based experience preferred
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Ability to manage caseload across multiple school sites
