Bilingual School Psychologist Job Duties

  • Conduct psychological and psychoeducational assessments for students

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans

  • Provide counseling, consultation, and crisis intervention services in both English and Spanish (or applicable second language)

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success

  • Monitor, document, and evaluate student progress

  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations, including IDEA and Section 504

  • Promote positive school climate and social-emotional learning initiatives

Federal and State Requirements

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program

  • Valid Illinois state certification/licensure as a School Psychologist or eligibility

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (or applicable second language) required

  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and related education laws

  • Strong assessment, counseling, and consultation skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

  • Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Illinois school districts
