Part-Time Residential Advisor (Overnight)

Schedule: Fridays & Saturdays, 11:30 PM – 7:30 AM (with opportunities for additional hours)

Compensation: $21.50–$25.00 per hour, based on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Part-Time Residential Advisor to oversee the safety and well-being of residents during overnight hours. This role requires a firm yet caring presence, ensuring house policies are followed while providing encouragement and support to women and children from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

· Model and uphold the mission of Joseph’s House in all actions and interactions.

· Ensure safety and security of the home overnight by conducting property checks, securing doors, alarms, and windows, and resetting systems in the morning.

· Monitor resident accountability, including ensuring all residents are present and safe.

· Enforce house guidelines (such as lights-out and kitchen closure).

· Provide compassionate assistance as needed, including offering support to new mothers or temporary childcare.

· Offer listening, encouragement, and guidance to residents in need of overnight support.

Qualifications

· High school diploma required; associate degree or higher in Human Services or a related field preferred.

· 2-3 years of relevant experience in human services, residential support, or similar field preferred.

· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to set healthy boundaries while showing compassion.

· Ability to manage multiple responsibilities calmly and effectively.

· Comfortable being the point person in charge during overnight hours.

· Mission-driven, flexible, and self-motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and board members.

· Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

Position Details

· Part-time, hourly, non-exempt, year-round role.

· Primarily overnight shifts with occasional opportunities for additional evening or off-shift coverage.
