Job Summary
The Psychologist – Applied Behavior Specialist (ABS) is responsible for providing psychological services to individuals and support, training and consultation to staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Develops, writes, implements and monitors behavioral interventions as necessary to meet individual’s needs.
· Assesses and completes appropriate sections of the CFA for individuals annually as well as review the behavior section of the PPO.
· Completes psychological assessments and reports as needed.
· Develops and implements in-service training for staff in regards to Behavioral Support Plans and behavioral interventions.
· Initiates and completes psychiatric consult forms.
· Participates as a member of Interdisciplinary Treatment Team Meetings.
· Participates in individual screening, admissions processes and programmatic movement/discharge procedures as needed.
· Attends and participates in monthly Psychology and Clinic Meetings.
· Communicates with staff to gather information for developing and writing Behavior Support Plans or other interventions.
· Participates as part of the Crisis Team as necessary to assist and train staff during crisis situations.
· Ensures required information is maintained in the individuals’ day programs and residential records.
· Collaborates with individuals and their teams to foster the development of relationships and skills that would be socially significant to the individual.
· Monitor behavior data collections.
· Submit progress notes and graphs monthly.
· Facilitate semi-annual/quarterly behavior plan of service.
· Will schedule and participate in annual pre-audits or as needed.
· Be responsible for the collection and summarization of data for the implementation or submission of Human Rights Limitations.
· Participates in monthly supervision and submits a monthly summary regarding site visitations, priorities, and accomplishments for caseload.
· Participates in projects and committees as needed.
· Maintains safety standards and follows all IGHL policies and procedures.
· All other duties assigned.
Position Requirements and Qualifications
· Master’s degree in Psychology
· Experience working with the Disabled population
· Valid NYS driver’s license
· Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
