Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, to implement behavioral therapy techniques and support their growth and development. You will be responsible for collecting data, and maintaining accurate medical documentation while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles.
- Work directly with children and individuals with disabilities to promote positive behaviors and improve daily living skills.
- Collect and analyze data on client progress and behavior changes to inform treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including special education professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Provide patient care that fosters a supportive environment for learning and development.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, particularly in relation to autism spectrum disorders.
- Familiarity with special education practices and working with people with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong skills in data collection, medical terminology, and medical documentation practices.
- Understanding of patient assessment processes and intake procedures in a behavioral health context.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members while demonstrating empathy and patience.
