Position Summary

Nobles is seeking to add another dynamic and experienced full-time associate director of college counseling to our office of five full-time counselors and an office coordinator, beginning in either January or July 2026. This 12-month position requires full engagement, alignment with the school’s mission, and enthusiasm for working with teenagers and families from various backgrounds through the complex college admissions process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the director of college counseling and the college counseling team to provide personalized counseling to students and their families in grades 10-12, including comprehensive support for co-curricular interests such as athletic recruiting, the arts, and specialized academic programs.
  • Foster an environment that encourages student exploration, self-discovery, and informed decision-making based on clear, data-informed counseling.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence: the ability to understand and bridge diverse perspectives, identities, and lived experiences.
  • Stay current with trends and changes in higher education by attending conferences, visiting college campuses, and maintaining professional networks.
  • Support students and families with all facets of the process, including but not limited to: guiding thoughtful completion of applications, essays, financial aid, and interview preparation, comprehensive letters of recommendation, and presenting at all events put on by the college office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the director.


Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in college counseling in schools
  • Background in selective college admissions is beneficial but not required
  • A bachelor’s degree is required
