Job Status: Full Time Position, 35 hour work week, Monday - Friday

Salary: $34,5000

Location: DeKalb Office at 444 East Hillcrest Drive, Suite 300, DeKalb, IL

(occasional travel within our six-county area)

The 4-C Mission is to promote children’s well-being by advocating for quality, affordable, accessible child care. We support families and child care providers by offering information, education, resources and services.

Job Purpose:

The Health & Safety Provider Support Specialist assists the Health & Safety Coach in scheduling and conducting on-site visits to License-Exempt (LE) child care providers who receive payment through the IDHS Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). The role also supports the CCAP Provider specialist with eligibility processes to ensure new and current child care providers can receive payment for children in their care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and maintain updated listings of LE child care providers.
  • Review and confirm completion of required training.
  • Contact providers and schedule on-site visits during operating hours.
  • Maintain accurate files and enter providers information in support systems.
  • Provide technical support to providers for completing or updating CCAP information.
  • Conduct follow-ups and request additional information when necessary.
  • Maintain detailed case notes and records in the IDHS online child Care Management System (CCMS).
  • Enter monthly child care provider certificates for payment processing.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, databases, and internet tools.
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging interactions with professionalism.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (or equivalent education/experience) in social work, customer service, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two full years of combined college credits and/or relevant full-time work experience.
