Responsibilities

 

The Licensed Architect will lead the planning, coordination, and supervision of architectural projects, including new construction and rehabilitation of existing facilities. This role is responsible for overseeing design development, managing consultant teams, and ensuring that project documents meet quality, sustainability, and constructability standards. The ideal candidate is a licensed architect with proven leadership experience in complex, multi-phase building projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage complex architectural projects from concept through preconstruction, with a focus on both new construction and rehabilitation work.
  • Supervise and review specifications, drawings, and technical documents prepared by Assistant Architects, drafters, and consultants.
  • Conduct constructability reviews to ensure design intent aligns with construction feasibility.
  • Prioritize the integration of sustainable design principles into project planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, construction management, and client representatives.
  • Lead communications with client agencies, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Manage consultant performance, ensuring compliance with scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Provide full supervisory oversight, including mentoring junior staff and managing workload assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational goals.

The client for this is the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) working on the Construction and Design team.

 



Qualifications



Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building and rehabilitation projects.
  • Minimum 8 years architectural experience in reviewing contract documents and performing constructability reviews.
  • Licensed Architect (required).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

  • Compensation range for this role:  Minimum: Min: $104,000 to $124,000 annually
  • The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined on the individual candidates’ qualifications and location
