Machine Shop Assistant

Matec Instrument Companies, Inc., located in Northborough, MA is the leading manufacturer of ultrasonic imaging systems and equipment used by some of the most recognizable and respected companies in the world. We are hiring a Machine Shop Assistant who will be responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of machines. This position is critical to the efficient operation of our plant and requires a flexible, can-do attitude.

Matec Instrument Companies, Inc. a leading manufacturer of ultrasonic testing systems and equipment has an immediate opening for a Machine Shop Assistant.

Under the supervision of the Machining Lead, this position maintains various machine shop equipment including both CNC and manual Mills and Routers, Lasers, Vacuum Formers, various saws, cutters, and presses, and other shop equipment and tools. This position may also fabricate and bond parts, and perform part finishing, cleaning, and deburring as well as other production activities, including but not limited to cleaning and maintaining equipment and shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Clean machines daily
• Deburr, prep, and clean metal and machine parts
• Clean and stack pallets
• Load and unload parts
• Maintain oils and coolants

Requirements

• Reliable, flexible, and conscientious
• High School diploma or GED
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience in a machine or manufacturing environment
• Able to lift up to 70 LBs
• Valid driver’s license
• Trade School
