About Job

RISE is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1980 as Aid To The Developmentally Disabled (ADD) by family members who were concerned about the physical and emotional decline of patients compelled to live in crowded institutions. These family members believed that appropriate treatment and training in a warm, sheltered, homelike environment would enhance their physical and emotional growth. With the support, funding and licensing of New York State’s Office of People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and the Office of Mental Health (OMH), ADD came to life.

We are currently seeking energetic Residential Counselors to work as part of a comprehensive treatment team providing support to individuals with a mental health diagnosis. Typically Residential Counselors would work in a residential group home or support individuals who reside in a supportive apartment program. This role of the residential counselor is to provide counseling, assist with self care , assist in independent living skills and promote community integration. The position of a Residential counselor is a wonderful opportunity to have a job that changes peoples lives! If this sounds appealing to you we encourage you to submit a resume and we will contact you for an interview.

"Rise to a better career" We have demonstrated a strong committment to the retention of our staff by introducing programs such as the : Rising Star and Shining Star programs as well as our interactive roundtable series. Please see our website for more information www.riselifeservices.org
