About Job
Senior BCBA
In STEPPS provides Applied Behavior Analysis, Occupational Therapy, Speech, Social Skills, Non-Public School, and Psychological services throughout Southern California. Our work is rooted in Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT) and Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBIs). We prioritize person-centered, play-based learning that fosters genuine progress in the environments where children live, learn, and grow.
Unlike many agencies in the field, In STEPPS is not private equity backed. We are BCBA-owned and operated, led exclusively by clinicians who are committed to clinical quality, sustainability, and staff development.
We’re seeking a Senior BCBA to join our supervisory team. This role is ideal for an experienced behavior analyst who is passionate about mentoring others, supporting clinical excellence, and shaping the next generation of BCBAs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight for a diverse caseload across home, clinic, school, and community settings.
- Maintain a billable service expectation of 25 hours per week, balancing direct clinical services with supervision and mentorship.
- Directly supervise and mentor Case Managers who are enrolled in BCBA coursework and/or accruing supervised fieldwork hours.
- Coach and support Case Managers in conducting assessments, writing instructional programs, and building their leadership skills.
- Lead functional assessments and design, implement, and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans and Treatment Plans.
- Collaborate with parents, schools, and interdisciplinary teams to provide consistent, individualized supports.
- Contribute to staff training initiatives, professional development programs, and parent education opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with funding source requirements (insurance, Medi-Cal, Regional Center, and school contracts).
- Model and promote best practices in PRT, NDBI, and naturalistic teaching strategies.
Qualifications
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing.
- 1+ years post-certification experience in ABA, with proven supervisory experience.
- Strong background in naturalistic and developmental approaches (PRT, NDBI) or an interest and willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring staff on the path to BCBA certification.
- Excellent collaboration skills with families, staff, and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to person-centered, high-quality care.
