    Reports to:
    Supervisor of Special Services

    Job Goal:
    To provide psychological and educational support services for students and consult with parents, school personnel, and outside agencies relative to student progress and evaluation.


    Performance Responsibilities:
    • Administers psychological evaluations when prescribed through the referral system, as directed.
    • Submits written evaluations to the Supervisor of Special Services in preparation for staffing.
    • Meets with parents concerning the evaluation of their child, recommends school programs for the child and communicates with outside agencies when necessary.
    • Consults with school personnel on problems and concerns when requested and recommends corrective of remedial assistance; provides school-related counseling to students who are identified as at-risk or as mandated by I.E.P.
    • Assists the Child Study Team, Superintendent of Schools and Principals in developing
    an effective educational program for all children needing attention and guidance.
    • Assists in the staffing and case management of children who have been evaluated by the team.
    • Holds conferences and meetings with parents when necessary as directed by the Supervisor of Special Services/Principal.
    • Prepares and submits a weekly schedule to the Supervisor.
    • Works with teachers and other staff members to familiarize them with the general range of services and resources offered.
    • Conduct threat and self-harm assessments and as necessary.
    • Assist with HIB investigations as necessary
    • Assist in the development and organization of the school’s character development program.
    • Maintain and extend professional knowledge and skills through additional graduate
    coursework, participation during in-service activities, professional reading, and other
    appropriate activities.
    • Demonstrate contribution to students, school, and district.
    • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the school psychologist certification.
