About Job

Looking for a behavior technician who can provide ABA therapy in the case of last-minute cancellations "PRN" in home and in community in the greater Austin, TX area.

Some things about this position:

  • You will be "on call" to cover therapist vacations and cancellations due to illness. All hours are weekdays between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm.
  • Clients are as far north as Georgetown, and as far west as Lakeway
  • You will be trained on each specific client prior to ever working with them.
  • Option to ONLY take sessions as available, or also work 5 hours of regularly scheduled hours per week.

Pay is very competitive as I am looking for an experienced, motivated, and clinically excellent individual to represent my company as a behavior therapist. Please do not apply to this position if you are not able to commit for the foreseeable future (at least 1 year), as this position involves training on specific programming, and building rapport and relationship with children.

Experience:

  • Required: MUST have at least 1 year of experience as a behavior therapist in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and be able to implement ABA programming with accuracy and precision.

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Behavior Technician (BT)

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) apply the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to treat children on the autism spectrum who have difficulties with socially significant behaviors in the home, school, and community. Skills taught may include social skills, communication, personal self-care, and work skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in 1:1 settings under the ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Assist BCBA in preparing patient materials as instructed.
  • Follow the recommended behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols written by a BCBA.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding patient progress as instructed by the BCBA.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Complete clinical documentation notes within 48 hours of session time.
  • Utilize safe & appropriate procedures when working with patients.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and abide by federal and state HIPAA laws
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures

  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members.

  • Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
  • Commitment to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to federal and state HIPPA laws.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standard.

Basic & Physical Requirements:

  • Must maintain a professional appearance regarding clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have knowledge of and ability to Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be able to receive detailed information through oral and written communication.
  • Must be extremely self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
  • Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have a valid driver’s license & auto liability insurance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university (Special Education preferred), or two-year college
  • Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings within the first 30 days of being employed including but not limited to: CPR/First Aid Certification where skills are demonstrated on a dummy, RBT certification
  • Clear 10-year background check
