LSSI is hiring a full-time Counselor Case Manager, Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Responsible for screening children and adults for psychiatric hospitalization and provide intensive short-term services to ensure stabilization.

Essential Functions:
  • Assess children, adolescents, and/or adults in psychiatric crisis for hospitalization and facilitate hospitalization at location of need.
  • Provide crisis counseling and coordination to help stabilize current psychiatric crisis if client does not meet criteria for inpatient hospitalization.
  • Maintain client record in the electronic health record in accordance with licensure and accreditation standards.
  • Provide training to new staff on mobile crisis screening events as needed.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.
Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field preferred.
  • Background check, both criminal and DCFS, clearance required.
  • Certification in IM CAT and/or IM CANS required.
  • Completion of HFS trainings (de-escalation, Crisis Safety Planning, Mobile Crisis) required.
  • Trained and proficient in the use of electronic health care record required.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience working with clients in the community.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
