Contract Counselor Position
Denton County Juvenile Probation is seeking a dedicated and skilled Contract Counselor to join our treatment team. This role provides vital support to adolescents on probation with Denton County Juvenile Probation.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing individual, family, group, and crisis counseling services
- Conducting comprehensive substance use assessments
- Delivering mental health counseling to juveniles on probation
Position Details:
- Full-time contract position (40 hours/week, Monday–Friday)
- Hourly rate:
- $29/hour for provisionally licensed professionals (LPC-Associate, LMFT-Associate, or LMSW working toward LCSW)
- $31/hour for fully licensed professionals (LPC, LMFT, LCSW)
- Licensure as an LCDC is preferred
- Free LPC-Associate supervision available, if requested
Essential Duties:
- Provides individual, family, group, and crisis counseling.
- Provides both mental health and substance abuse counseling to adolescents.
- Conducts and completes Full Drug Assessments and Relapse Prevention Plans.
- Develops curriculum for training and counseling purposes.
- Regular and punctual attendance is required.
- Maintains professional liability insurance; remains an ethical and professional counselor.
Education, Experience, and Licenses:
Licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW considered if working towards LCSW).
Must be able to pass a State Criminal History background check.
