Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You will work closely with patients to ensure their safety and well-being while assisting in their recovery process. This position requires a strong understanding of psychiatric care and the ability to respond effectively in crisis situations.

Duties

• Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with daily living activities.
• Conduct patient observations to assess behavior and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Implement behavior management techniques to support patients in coping with their conditions.
• Assist in crisis intervention efforts, ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient interactions and care provided.
• Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Support patients with disabilities by promoting independence and enhancing quality of life.
• Engage in therapeutic communication to build rapport and trust with patients.
• Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities related to psychiatric care.

Qualifications

• Experience or education in psychiatry, nursing, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and patient monitoring techniques is essential.
• Previous experience in acute care settings or corrections facility medical clinics is advantageous.
• Strong skills in crisis intervention and behavioral health management are required.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail are necessary for patient observation tasks.
