BHN is currently seeking students for an Addiction Recovery Counseling Internship within our New View Program, which serves women navigating substance use recovery through acute treatment and clinical stabilization services.

What You’ll Do as an Intern
As an Addiction Recovery Counseling Intern, you’ll gain valuable experience in substance use treatment by:
- Learning the intake process, including screening, assessment, and orientation
- Providing case management and referrals for a small caseload under supervision
- Assisting with treatment planning and providing psychoeducation to individuals
- Shadowing and co-facilitating psychoeducational group and individual counseling sessions
- Observing and supporting crisis intervention services
- Completing clinical documentation, reports, and other record-keeping tasks
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and consulting with other providers
- Deepening your understanding of co-occurring disorders and recovery models
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or certificate program in a related field (required).
- Working toward completion of CADC or LADC II certification (preferred).
- Familiarity with substance use treatment and co-occurring populations (preferred).
- Interested in clinical practice, addiction services, and recovery support.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reliable, professional, and eager to learn in a team setting.
- Flexible hours based on college program requirements
- Unpaid placement for academic credit only
