Overview
The Activities Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our Memory Care community. This position is responsible for assisting in developing, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities that promote social interaction, physical well-being, and emotional support for seniors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with the elderly and possess strong organizational and communication skills to create a vibrant community atmosphere.

Duties

  • Design and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
  • Plan and coordinate events that encourage socialization, creativity, and physical activity.
  • Collaborate with staff members to ensure activities align with residents' care plans and assist with daily living activities (ADLs).
  • Conduct assessments to identify residents' interests and preferences for activity participation.
  • Facilitate group activities such as arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and outings.
  • Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continually improve the activities program.
  • Provide counseling on aging issues and support residents in their emotional well-being.
  • Work closely with families to keep them informed about upcoming events and encourage their involvement.

Requirements

  • Experience in memory care settings.
  • Background in social work or caregiving is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of aging issues counseling to effectively support residents' emotional needs.
  • Strong event planning skills to create engaging and meaningful experiences for seniors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and families to foster a supportive community environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A compassionate approach towards senior care with an understanding of their unique challenges.
  • Flexibility to adapt programs based on resident feedback and changing needs.
