Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing assistance and guidance to individuals facing various challenges related to behavioral and mental health. This position requires a strong background in crisis intervention and management, as well as experience in counseling and social work. The Support Specialist will work closely with clients to develop effective strategies for coping and recovery, ensuring they receive the support they need.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized support plans.
- Offer behavioral health support through counseling sessions, focusing on mental health, addiction, and overall well-being.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients in their recovery journey.
- Mentor clients by providing guidance, resources, and encouragement throughout their process of change.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and enhance service delivery for clients.
- Stay informed about best practices in behavioral health and participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements
- North Carolina Peer Support Specialist Certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in crisis intervention, crisis management, or related roles within the behavioral health field.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation purposes is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining client records.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team-oriented environment.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
