Position Summary

The School Social Worker serves as a critical liaison between students, families, and school personnel. This position focuses on addressing barriers to learning, providing direct services to students, and promoting mental health and well-being in the school setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling for students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
  • Conduct assessments and develop intervention strategies in collaboration with educators and parents.
  • Connect families to community resources such as mental health services, housing assistance, and food security programs.
  • Participate in the development of IEPs, 504 Plans, and behavioral intervention plans.
  • Support crisis intervention efforts and respond to student or school emergencies.
  • Promote equity, trauma-informed practices, and culturally responsive support across the school community.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with school, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW)
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker Endorsement
  • Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school setting

Preferred:
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
  • Bilingual (Spanish or other languages)
  • Experience with restorative practices, MTSS, or trauma-informed care
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive weekly pay: $40 - $55 per hour (based on experience)
