Role Overview
We are seeking a Volunteer Intake Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for families and students enrolling in MAP programs. The Intake Coordinator will guide families through the onboarding process, collect necessary information, and ensure students are matched with appropriate mentors and services. This role is essential to creating a welcoming, supportive entry experience for families while maintaining accurate records and program alignment.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Volunteer Intake Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for families and students enrolling in MAP programs. The Intake Coordinator will guide families through the onboarding process, collect necessary information, and ensure students are matched with appropriate mentors and services. This role is essential to creating a welcoming, supportive entry experience for families while maintaining accurate records and program alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for new families and students entering MAP programs
- Guide families through the intake process with empathy and professionalism
- Collect and maintain accurate participant information, forms, and documentation
- Assess student needs and coordinate with program staff to match services and mentors
- Communicate regularly with families to answer questions and provide updates
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with MAP policies and privacy standards
- Track enrollment data and prepare intake reports for leadership
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Compassion, patience, and cultural sensitivity when working with families
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, Gmail)
- Passion for mission-driven work and supporting underserved youth
- Experience in case management, intake, or student services
- Familiarity with trauma-informed and equity-centered practices
- Background in education, social work, or nonprofit programming
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities (Spanish, Haitian Creole, or others) a plus
- Hands-on experience supporting family and student engagement in a nonprofit setting
- Training in intake, case management, and trauma-informed approaches
- Opportunities to connect directly with families and help youth access support
- Collaboration with a passionate, mission-driven team
- Letters of recommendation and professional references for future opportunities
